Early Hang Out Places

One of the most fun activities in Second Life is exploring. I've found some amazing places, some with the help of a book, How to do Everything with Second Life, and some with the help of friends, who take me to their favorite places. First places...
This is ISTE. When I didn't know anyone I'd hang out here. I still spend time here and bring friends here. My goal is to fill a table some day. :-) I've come close.
This is the library Kiwi showed me. This was my first encounter with pose balls, too. You right click them and "sit" and your avatar takes on a predetermined pose. My favorite here is lying on my stomach reading a book. I used to think nothing of going into a building like this and sitting for an hour or so. Now that I've lived with the social norms of SL for a while I feel like I'm intruding in someone else's space. Too bad. I never visit this library anymore.
This is another part of ISTE. Members of ISTE have socials every Thursday night at 6 pm SLT (Second Life Time), which is 9 pm for me. Sometimes there are topics of discussion planned that have to do with educational technology. Most of the time it seems to be just dancing and chatting. This is a photo of my first dancing experience. Just like middle school, some women are dancing. The rest, and all the men, are standing around the edges of the dance floor. :-)
